FUMI is Uganda’s independent umbrella body representing medical interns across all health professional cadres—doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, and dental surgeons. We advocate for the welfare, professional interests, and working conditions of medical interns deployed across the nation.
Vision: A well-motivated, equipped, facilitated, and hardworking medical intern contributing towards the provision and development of healthcare in Uganda.
Mission: To advocate for the welfare and interests of medical interns throughout their working period and to provide programs that support the socio-economic welfare and professional interests of medical interns in Uganda.
Full Members — currently deployed interns at legally recognised internship centres.
Subscribed Members — full members who have paid the annual subscription fee (UGX 20,000).
Associate Members — medical students and pre-interns awaiting deployment.
Alumni Members — graduates who have completed legal medical internship in Uganda.
Honorary Members — individuals or organisations who have made special contributions to FUMI’s goals and mission.
